Traditional braces are composed of square metal brackets adhered to the smiling surfaces of the teeth and wires that are attached to metal bands around the molars. How Invisalign works
The Invisalign process begins with impressions of your teeth being made so your aligners can be created in a dental lab. The aligners are made of a thermoplastic material that is virtually invisible as well as being strong and flexible to maximize comfort and durability. Aligners need to be worn for 22 hours each day–and every few weeks, wearers will transition to the next set of aligners in the series. Over a period of months, the aligners gradually shift specific teeth. We recommend patients remove their aligners and rinse them with warm water daily. They can also be carefully brushed with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
